Garden Inspiration, Lanterns

I was over on Apartment Therapy and spotted this post about Budget Friendly Outdoor Upgrades and saw this DIY of Mason Jar Lanterns. I thought it could be a really gorgeous element to add to our garden if we had a backyard party this summer.

And then, upon further googling I spotted this lantern concept....

It's a DIY outdoor chandelier - Absolutely gorgeous, and not that difficult to recreate- It comes via and they even have DIY instructions in PDF form

Just some inspiration for the weekend! :)

It's ingenious, I love it. You can really get creative with it by adding different coloured sand and candles inside the jar. Thanks for sharing!

Love it! I did that last year for a wedding, we filled the jars with rice and also used some as vases. Cheap and easy and really pretty :-)

They are so great! I love them - especially thinking of them hanging in the yard on a summer night with friends around. B & I just discussed how nice it would be to do something like this once the yard it a little more "company friendly"! Thanks for sharing all the different inspiration! The chandelier is incredible!

Oooh this is such a great idea! I am definitely going to try this for our deck.

Thanks so much for sharing!

P.S. I have been following your blog for awhile and I've loved seeing the nursery come together. You both are such talented designers! Thanks for sharing your design journey with us :)

I love this look. I bought a flat of mason jars at a yard sale (for a dollar! Woo hoo) with just this kind of thing in mind for our patio. Hadn't thought of using sand in them though - that's a great idea! And I love those hanging on the fence and wish we had a spot to do that.
